Add members to a channel

Add colleagues to O'Chat channels, manage access, and collaborate on client conversations.

Adding members to a channel

You can add team members to any O'Chat channel for collaboration:

  1. Open the connection settings
  2. In the Members tab, add colleagues who should have access
  3. Members will see the channel in their Discuss sidebar
  4. All members can send and receive messages

Perfect for handovers

When adding a new team member, they'll see the full conversation history. Great for project handovers or bringing in specialists.

Member permissions

All members added to a channel have the same permissions:

  • Read all messages in the channel (including history)
  • Send messages to the remote instance
  • Attach files to messages
  • Receive real-time notifications for new messages

Only tagged members get notified

Members are notified of new messages only if they are tagged or if the channel has unread messages. This avoids notification overload for large teams.

Removing members

To remove a member from a channel:

  1. Open the connection settings
  2. In the Members tab, remove the colleague
  3. The channel will no longer appear in their Discuss sidebar

Removed members lose access to the channel immediately, but messages they sent remain visible to other members.
